Hellboy II: The Golden Army is the first film that Danny Elfman has composed music for director Guillermo del Toro, but the team-up is no surprise. Danny has continued to attract a devoted fanbase largely through his scores for such comic book movie adaptations as Batman and Spider-Man, while Guillermo del Toro has helmed such satisfying fan favorites as Blade 2 and the original Hellboy movie. Danny Elfman's latest film score is now available on the CD Hellboy II: The Golden Army - Original Soundtrack.
A very busy man this year, Danny's 2008 roster of film scores include WANTED and STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (a German film release). Danny Elfman has also written his first ballet RABBIT AND ROGUE, which will hit the stage in August; and a HOUDINI musical is also in the works for a 2010 debut. We can only hope the Danny Elfman action figure, video game, and line of exotic mustards are not far behind now.

"I'm self taught. I listened to lots of movie scores when I was a kid, tied to the heavy cast iron chair while my mother went out shopping -- which was usually 8 to 10 hours a day, as my mother liked to shop quite a bit." -- Danny Elfman
