This film's release datehas been changed to September 28, 2007. "Music by Danny Elfman" is the composer's credit in the trailer for the 2007 action release The Kingdom starring Jamie Foxx.

The Kingdom is produced by Michael Mann (Miami Vice, Heat) and directed by Peter Berg (The Rundown, Friday Night Lights).

In The Kingdom, a team of U.S. counter-terrorism investigators led by FBI Agent Ronald Fleury (played by Jamie Foxx) set out to find the perpetrators behind a deadly attack on Americans in a Middle Eastern country. In order to work through the bureaucracy and cultural hostility, the team enlists a local police officer, but still find itself a target for the terrorists.

The film, originally due on April 20, is complete and Danny Elfman has recorded the score. Soundtrack.net has an article online about the recent scoring session.

Universal decided to post-pone the release after positive test screenings, explaining that they wanted more time to generate buzz.  "We had screenings at the high end of extraordinary," said Universal's marketing president Adam Fogelson. "The big and obvious points of the film worked, but also a great deal of its subtlety had an immense impact on audiences." The film will now open over Columbus Day weekend where it could potentially earn a more impressive box office take.

An official website for the Universal movie has also been launched.
